KISC’s Mission
“. . . to
provide training for teachers, in order to equip students and teachers
to positively impact their world.”
KISC EQUIP
seeks to support the government’s education plans for Nepal. We seek to
reach out from KISC and serve the surrounding communities primarily
around Kathmandu and in the areas of the HDCS hospitals. One of our
trainers works with Save the Children, Nepal in the remote area of Dolpa.
Christine Stone conducts training programmes throughout Nepal and is now
our Professional Consultant.
We seek to
work in partnership with the government and with other NGOs. We work
with the Early Childhood Education Centre (ECEC), Save the Children,
Students Partnership Worldwide (SPW) and Room to Read.
We continue to expand the
number of teacher trainers, both Nepali & expatriate. We are also
helping to pilot One Laptop Per Child in a village school.
In
co-operation with the KISC EQUIP team Helen & Harald Eikeland plan to
conduct a Contextual Teachers Training Programme.
