At the start of Term 2, we welcomed our new KISC School Director, Mr Christian Vestergaard. In our morning assembly it was great to have some of our Grade 9 and 11 students perform a Nepali dance, followed by a truly international welcome, where students from several countries said 'Welcome to KISC' in their own language. This included: South Korean, Chinese, Swedish, French, Dutch, Ukrainian, Moldovan, Spanish, Latvian and Nepali.
Mr Vestergaard joins us with a strong background in both educational leadership and a deep commitment to Christ-centered education. He has served at LAMB English Medium School in Bangladesh, which he helped to establish, and has carried out various roles over the past 30 plus years. Originally from Denmark, Mr Vestergaard spent his primary school years in Nepal, attending the Norwegian school here in Kathmandu, while his parents worked in Bangladesh. This, along with having spent most of his working life abroad, and his vast experience working at LAMB, has given him a deep appreciation of the cross-cultural aspects of education for families working overseas.
We look forward to all that Mr Vestergaard will bring to the leadership of the school and the whole KISC community.
